Chap wanted to make amends for the previous weeks defeat at Adel and the Dragons of Huddersfield were in the firing line. As our intrepid reporter Hutch was chasing stories elsewhere, this report is based on hearsay and if any of the summary is incorrect blame the sources.
The Dragons were struggling before they had started. With only 10 men and lacking a keeper it was always going to be a long game. Chap for their part were missing numerous players so there was a notable first league start of the season for Wragg the Younger.
Playing against a depleted side, Boss Hogg decided on a more attacking formation with Von Ryan moved into a left wing position to support Dan Dare and Ice Burg.
Details of the game are sketchy but a few details have emerged to shed light on proceedings.
• Firstly, Wragg the Younger was to quickly find himself on the wrong side of brother Reg Hollis to see his first green of the season.
• The Huddersfield captain, marking Wragg the Younger, was to get even more on the wrong side of the second umpire, his wife, to see a card with a more yellow tinge.
• Young Chocolate was to make a, quote: ‘ truly outstanding save worthy of the first team’ to deny a Huddersfield goal.
• Dan Dare and Fitbit were to get their first goals for the club
• Huddersfield did manage to beat Chocolate once
• IceBurg was to add a further goal
• and Finally, Von Ryan had the game of his life scoring not once, not twice but three times to complete a comfortable 6-1 win for the ‘Town
After Match Voting saw Von Ryan cruise to the MOM StarBlazer with Wragg the Younger being introduced to the DOD Hot Dog.
