Chapeltown 2's v Dronfield - 21st Oct

We didn't have storm Brian interfering with events today but it was definitely a stormy game with lots of action throughout. Our first goal was scored by Ali from a delivery from Lyndsey at 18 mins, who was desperately trying to find her form still, but they delivered to give us the lead. At 25 mins Jen decided to have a lie down on the pitch for a few seconds after a collision, but fired straight up to go end to end to defend another 2 short corners from Dronfield just before half time.

Spirits were high as we were controlling the game but Dronfield took advantage and scored just 3 mins into the second half. The team reacted quickly and we scored again in the 8th minute from a great ball from Lyndsey to Ali again, but unfortunately is was disallowed as it was deemed the ball wasn't controlled!. We battled on with another great goal from Lyndsey delivered by Big Beth just 5 mins later, but things took a bit of repetition and Dronfield broke quickly and scored 2 mins later. Our defenders got back on track and got stuck in with some great defending with even a talking to for Mrs Gillott (she was just putting in a strong challenge your honour)! A tough time came when Dronfield sneaked in another 2 quick goals, one being from a short making a stretching scoreline.

But with grit and determination and another 12 mins left we bounced back once again and saw another great delivery from Lyndsey to Bayley this time making things 4-3, and only a few mins later getting a flick which was scored by Lyndsey after the goalie decided she wanted to put the ball into hibernation in her groin! Time sadly ran out but all players came away really positive with a well earned pat on the back. MOM - Lyndsey Boulby (Dr Magic) - DOD - Bayley Boulby (7am roll in) - 4-4 final score
