Coaching/umpiring info and other news

Hi all, the end of season is almost upon us. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for making themselves available to play each week, also our umpires and coaches for their continued commitment.
We'd also like to inform you of the development pathways for anyone interested in coaching and/or umpiring.

Coaching

Please follow the link for England Hockey introduction to coaching where you will develop ideas & tips to support your introduction to coaching, gain confidence when delivering to a small group and take away practical game ideas to deliver fun and engaging sessions to your players.
This would be the first step on the way to gaining a level one coaching qualification.
You will need to register for the England Hockey Hub.

Umpiring

There is an easy introduction to umpiring course which can be taken online.

You can then progress by being shadowed on the way to taking your level 1 qualification, it's not as hard as it may sound. Starts with an online rules course then you can progress to getting assessed and accredited as a level 1 umpire.
Once qualified you will then get paid to umpire games (currently £15 per game)

Keep our Club going and get paid, what's not to like!

The club usually will help to fund anyone gaining qualifications to help the club please speak to a committee member if you're interested. Committee members can be found on the club website under contacts.

Don't forget the Annual Dinner/presentation night for senior members. A chance to join in the frivolity, dress to impress and maybe pick up an award or two. 27th April at The Crowne Plaza Hotel, Sheffield.

Next up, the Annual General Meeting will be held in May. Date and venue to be confirmed.
This is an important event in the calendar as it's where captains and officials get voted in. It is important that members attend please.

The committee works hard on behalf of our members to ensure match days, training and events can run smoothly. If you'd like to join the committee or put yourself forward for a role within the club look out for the nominations form. There are role descriptions on the club website under information and documents.
