A new season for the girls u14 started with a "local derby" against Sheffield Hallam 2. The match started with CHC coming under pressure from Sheffield but the defensive barrier of Emma, Brogan and Ellie in defensive midfield with the Turner's and Olivia C behind in defence and Cerys in goal held out every attack. When Sheffield did manage to get through and beat Cerys an amazing goal line clearance by Ellie kept the score at 0-0.
CHC attacks were limited and Lauren who had waited patiently in the Sheffield D all match with 2 minutes left got her chance - a long ball from the half way line found her on her own in the D with just the goal keeper to beat and she calmly controlled the ball and scored past the advancing goalie - 1-0 to CHC
2nd match up was Brigg - this match was dominated from start to finish by CHC showing their attacking flair with Harriet , Erin and Megan pushing the team forward and Kathryn playing her debut coming close to scoring. Goals from Lauren and Harriet with another 5 goals from Megan - #megansonfire - with the 5th from a great "tomohawk" hit - 7-0 win
3rd match CHC just needed a draw against Selby for promotion and with Selby having lost heavily to Sheffield earlier looked an easy game. Selby though showed great defensive determination and even though CHC were camped in their 23 for the whole game could not get the ball past Selby and some inspired goal keeping - when they finally did it hit the post. With a minute left Erin broke into the D and slotted the ball home for a 1-0 win
MOM for Megan and Erin (again -2 in 1 weekend)
Great performance by all the girls specially as some had played Saturday as well - The u14s stepping up to Ladies is obviously having a big impact on their skills and ability so it was good to see four u12s stepping up to the big pitch who showed that they can more than hold their own at this level and have the potential to be the next batch of Ladies players - the future looks bright for CHC ladies hockey .

If Dean can remember his coaching folder for the next tournament with all the plans he has worked on the night before who knows how many they will score next time .
